Sander Lylloff - Denmark
Gamblers bet on Lylloff
22/10/2009
Sander Lylloff, Matvey "Falafel" Natanzon, Masayuki Mochizuki are favorites to win the 2009 World Series of Backgammon championship, according to the bookmakers' odds. The WSOB championship was originally scheduled to October 26th, 2009, directly after the tour last stop at the UK Masters in London, was postponed at the last minute to February 5-6, 2010, to a yet unknown location.
On top of the three backgammon masters, UK based player Raj Jansari is also named as favorite to champion the WSOB Season III shootout. Despite winning the last WSOB events in Cannes and in Prague, Najib Salamzy and Jan Jacobowitz are not estimated as the most likely to triumph the championship, nor are Shahab Ghodsi (Norway), Steen Gronbech (Denmark) and Jurgen Orlowski (Germany) who follow Lylloff on the top of the WSOB Race Standings. British player and WSOB commentator Will Cockerell has the lower odds of stepping out of the WSOB 2009 championship with a trophy in his hands, according to the gamblers' viewpoint.
Another Dane backgammon master, Morten Holm Lassen, is expected to reveal his psychic abilities during the UK Masters Calcutta auction by offering "his fascinating insight into the Main Event players", as described in the World Series of Backgammon website. However, due to the recent development in the WSOB 2009 finale the field of players is predicted to drop drastically.
