About Masters of Backgammon
Masters of Backgammon (MOB) was created to provide the proper space and the respect to all the champion level backgammon players who attend the world's largest backgammon tournaments on a regular basis and together form the international backgammon community. For starters, Masters of Backgammon is inspired by the Yamin Yamin's Giants of Backgammon of list, which ranks the best backgammon players in the world based on a poll voted by their colleagues, active players in backgammon clubs, leagues and tours worldwide. But in time, we plan to run our own polls and hopefully create a new list consisted of the top masters of backgammon.
Masters of Backgammon includes profiles of the top 32 backgammon players in the world today, where you can learn about each backgammon master's background and his records in backgammon championships; see what they look like in the gallery section or watch them in action on videos, and follow the latest news to read on what they are up to these days. Also take a look at the tournaments section to get a behind the scenes look at the most important events in the backgammon world.
Although at the moment there is not a single woman among the list of 32 backgammon giants, Masters of Backgammon wants to floodlight the women who play backgammon professionally. That, by giving them a special corner where topics such as the ways to encourage women to join backgammon tournaments, the role of "ladies only" in tournaments and the difference between women and men backgammon players will be discussed, until the first women backgammon player would smash the glass ceiling of the backgammon mastery.
